The British Government’s recent change of position on China has revealed confusion about the balance of security risk and economic opportunity which China presents. The growing wave of Sino-scepticism is not specific to the U.K but the U.K. has become one of China’s most vocal critics, leaving the UK-China relationship in question.  This panel discussion aims to provide an injection of clear thinking into the China debate. Agenda:
  • How can the UK’s new approach to China be explained, and was it the right move?
  • Has a new British strategy emerged? Or is the UK simply reacting to events?
  • What do we know about China’s foreign affairs strategy?
  • How can the UK derive more benefit from its relationship with China?
